Isis Winter League 25/26

IWL is a multi-day event run over several months. There are four (provisionally) scheduled head races for this academic year:

  • A - 2nd November 2025
  • B - 30th November 2025
  • C - 25th January 2026
  • D - 8th February 2026
  • E - 22nd February 2026
  • ISL - 3rd May 2026

The course generally runs from Donnington Bridge to the Head of the River, with races occurring from about 1pm to 4pm. River closure will be confirmed closer to each race. There is no cannon usage at these events.

 

Autumn Fours 2025

Autumn Fours is a regatta provisionally scheduled to be held on the 9th November 2025.

The course generally runs from Longbridges Boathouse to the Head of the River, with races occuring from about 1pm to 4pm. River closure will be confirmed closer to the day. There is no cannon usage at this event.

 

Tamesis Regatta 2025

Tamesis Regatta is a multi-day event run by Linacre College Boat Club at the end of November for novice rowers. This year, it is scheduled to be run from the 26th to the 29th of November.

The course generally runs from Boathouse Island to the Head of the River, with races occuring from about 12pm to 3pm. River closure will be confirmed closer to the event. There is no cannon usage at this event.

 

Torpids 2026

Torpids is a multi-day bumps race run at the end of February. This year it is scheduled to be run from the 4th to the 7th of March. There will be an additional day of closure on the 27th February (or the 1st March as a contingency) for 'rowing on'.

The course starts at the bunglines, positioned from Donnington Bridge to the Isis Farmhouse, and finishes at the Head of the River. Races run from 11:45 until 17:30. River closure will be confirmed closer to the event.

There is a cannon at these events. It will fire approximately three times every half hour from 11:40 until 17:15 from the 4th through 7th March. It will fire at approximately at 40, 44 and 45 minutes past and 10, 14 and 15 minutes past each hour.

Summer Eights 2026

Summer Eights is a multi-day bumps race run at the end of May. This year it is scheduled to be run from the 27th May to the 30th May. There will be an additional day of closure on the 23rd May for 'rowing on'.

The course starts at the bunglines, positioned from Donnington Bridge to the Isis Farmhouse, and finishes at the Head of the River. Races run from 12:15 until 19:00 and from 11:15 to 18:00 on the Saturday. River closure will be confirmed closer to the event.

There is a cannon at these events. It will fire every half hour from 12:10 until 18:45 from the 27th to the 30th. It will fire every half hour from 11:10 until 17:45 on the 31st. It will fire at approximately 10, 14 and 15 minutes past, and 40, 44 and 45 minutes past.
